SpotRecall: Close Tabs Without Fear, Find Any Page Again

Too many tabs open, but afraid to close any of them? SpotRecall closes the tabs you are not using and makes sure you can always get them back. Just describe what you remember.

Safe auto-close Keyword + semantic search On-device AI

Safe Auto-Close

Right after install, SpotRecall indexes the tabs you already have open and tidies them down to 12 (you choose the number). Active, pinned, grouped, audible and form-filled tabs are never closed, and every window keeps at least one tab. Every closed tab shows up in a 48-hour list, where one click reopens it.

Recall by Keyword or by Meaning

Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+K and search. Keyword search finds error codes, URLs and version numbers exactly. An on-device multilingual AI model finds pages from a loose description. Where the browser provides an on-device Translation API, you can search across English, Japanese and Chinese.

Private by Design, Open Source

Page text, titles, URLs and timestamps stay in a local browser database. Your pages and queries are never uploaded. There is no account, cloud sync, analytics or tracking. Semantic search downloads a public model of about 135 MB once and caches it locally; after that it works offline. SpotRecall is open source under AGPL-3.0.

Pairs Well with ContextWizard

ContextWizard keeps your AI conversations; SpotRecall keeps the rest of the web you have read. Both are local-first and work without an account, so together they cover everything you have seen in the browser.
